Our Mission
Teacher Café Foundation™ helps sustain Teacher Café™ Stations as accessible, community-supported structures of care inside schools.
During Phase 1, the Foundation support stations through a No-Deficit Cost-Recovery Contribution Model. Teacher contributions are used only to help replenish supplies and sustain each station, without creating financial obligations beyond available funds.
During Phase 2, the Foundation will expand support through a Pay-What-You-Can Model, thanks to donation campaigns, sponsorships, grants, and community-based contributions. This will invite broader support for educator well-being.
The Foundation coordinates replenishment needs, manages supply orders, and works with the designated Teacher Café™ Steward to respond to daily-use needs such as coffee, tea, snacks, cups, and other consumable supplies. The Foundation also provide free care items for staff, including feminine hygiene products, tissues, and other comfort supplies like napkins, paper plates, cutlery, paper towels, hand sanitizer and hand lotion. Any free medication or first-aid items are provided only in accordance with district policy and school nurse guidance.
To extend care beyond the station and into the classroom, the Foundation also provide caramels for teachers to share with students, along with motivational cards designed to encourage and uplift students.
Through this work, Teacher Café Foundation™ helps schools care for educators by keeping each station stocked, sustainable, inclusive, and centered on teacher dignity, belonging, cultural responsiveness, and positive school climate.
Our Story
Teacher Café Foundation™ grew from a simple act of care into a broader vision for supporting educators.
The initiative began in 2022 with a small tea station created by a practicing educator to offer teachers a moment to pause and care during the school day. Through real school-based implementation, that idea developed into the Teacher Café Model™: a restorative approach designed to strengthen educator well-being, professional dignity, connection, belonging, cultural responsiveness, and school climate.
Teacher Café™ is not simply about coffee, furniture, or a room. It is about creating welcoming spaces where educators feel seen, respected, supported, and connected.
